I'm reminded of Mark Twain's comment, that "reports of my death are greatly exaggerated". Yes, being a councillor takes up a lot of my time, the event on Saturday that I was co-organiser of was a march through Kendal to bring a radiotherapy unit to our local hospital.
I was preparing something for the Beckfoot thread and will try to post it soon. I have also been persuing the Forestry Commission about the Dog's Home - I just can't get a reply from their Land Agent about the likely cost of the repairs identified by their Building Surveyor.
And as regards Swallow, I was out in her (briefly) this morning for an article in the Lancashire magazine - Coniston was entirely in the county of Lancashire until 1974.
