It redirects everyone. Lots of web addresses redirect you, without, as
you say, so much as a by-your-leave. In such cases I don't regard it as
important to remember or quote the address ultimately reached. If a
shorter or easier-to-remember version leads to the same place, then
that's the version I would be inclined to quote. If a site is well-
managed, then the shortest or easiest-to-remember version of its address
is the one that's most likely to remain valid if and when the site is
reorganised (as happens distressingly often at some sites).
Glad you managed to get to Rudyard in the end.
I must have misspelt Reservoir when I tried it before, because that now
works for me too.
