Some (over zealous) people claim Enid Blyton was subconsciously revealing her inner state when she included characters Dick and Fanny into nearly all her books, but that is hogwash in my opinion.
Dick was a very common name back then, short for Richard and nothing funny about it at all. Peggy seems to be a nickname associated with about 20 different girl's names, if you read any book of baby names and their explanations.
Here's a link to the story which Mavis Altounyan got her name from. It is not a very nice story, however. Titty Mouse dies in the first few paragraphs!
