There were definite references to Ransome in at least 2 of Monica Edwards' books which appeared in the 50s and 60s. I've seen it claimed by various critics that both she and Malcolm Saville were influenced by Ransome.
Which leads to the question - was Enid Blyton similarly influenced when she wrote the "Famous Five" or "Secret Seven" books?
