No road access, no electricity, an eccentric landlady - the exact description of "The Lock" at Geldeston. We reached this remote pub (well it was still remote in 1967!) on "Wood Rose", an engineless three berth Percy Hunter yacht. We discovered a candle lit bar and a fierce grey haired landlady, "Boudiccea of the Broads", who entertained her customers with tales of her battles with the River Commissioners.

Sadly "The Lock" after being "improved" was closed down after a drugs raid, Boudiccea has long passed away. But "Wood Rose" and the rest of the Hunter fleet are still going strong and available for hire.
