The stations (non railway) but owned by railway companies - the London & North Western Railway and also the Furness Railway were at Lakeside, Bowness and Ambleside.
The LNWR & FR had merged (with other companies as well) to become the London Midland & Scottish Railway in the era of the books.
Unfortunately none of these stations are readily identifiable as the NP building.
The were other calling points at landing stages for smaller boats, but none of these were railway owned and merited the title station.
Incidentally the picture posted by Dave, is from a US edition well illustrated by Helene Carter. AR's picture also gives an impression of some height above lake level but perhaps not so high as indicated in the Carter version.
