I've just uploaded a picture, successfully, but again I had to change the suffix from .jpg to .JPG.
I have now looked into this further, and my photo files seem to default to .JPG when I save them to my computer (rather than .jpg), so yes, I do have to use the same suffix as the uploaded photo, however the suffix doesn't show in the picture title, and the little window on the upload facility won't show it either unless you have a very short file name! I have to say I wasn't aware of this.
It might therefore be worth adding a little bit to the upload instructions, to say to people to check what suffix their photo is saved to as some systems seem to default to .JPG rather than .jpg (this can be done by placing the cursor on the photo I think).
Peter Trulove seems to have been having exactly the same issue, so a reminder to check might help others too.
