What about WINTER HOLIDAY? Not sure exactly what DATE that story was supposed to start. The generic name "winter holiday" is non-religious specific. The D's had come to spend the last week of the winter holidays, so I am guessing that is all happening after Christmas, which was probably spent with their parents.

In Winter Holiday, there was a mention about the effect of having their vacation extended because of mumps, saying "it was as if the Christmas holidays had just started."

And, in Pigeoon Post, Dick was looking up the semaphore code in his notebook where Nancy had drawn them "in the CHRISTMAS holidays." And also in Pigeon Post, John uses a file on his pocket knife which was given to him last Christmas. And in Swallowdale, they referred to the tale about Peter Duck they made up "in the CHRISTMAS holidays." And there was that "Christmas plum-pudding" they seemed to enjoy.

About the only other connection I see with religion is that the Great Aunt went to visit the vicar (Swallowdale) because he was doing things some new way that she did not approve of.

And there was a parson on a suspicious bicycle in Big Six, Chapter 20.

So religion was only lightly touched on in these stories.

Happy New Year.
