Mike asked: And also, if you know, how one can have first-cousins-once-removed more than one generation apart?

Basically the removal process works both up and down the ancestry tree.

My parent's first cousins (my grandparents' siblings' children) are my first cousins once removed being my parent's first cousins. Their children would be my second cousins. They are one generation up from me.

My uncle/aunt's children are my parent's nephews/nieces and my first cousins and my first cousins' children are my first cousins once removed (and my children's second cousins). They are one generation down from me and separated by two generations from the other removed first cousins.
