The picture 'blocks' which were destroyed by bombing in September 1940 were the ones for 'The Big Six', not 'Secret Water' which had been published just when the War started. The blockmaker's premises, not Cape's, were wrecked but AR's originals had by then been returned to Cape's and were unharmed. New blocks were made, and 'The Big Six' was out by that Christmas.
