As for myself, I have truly enjoyed the more personal contact with TarBoard members facilitated by their providing the email ID. It has allowed much more depth and a wider variety of topics, not necessarily all that appropropriate for inclusion on TarBoard, but accomplished quite satisfactorily on private EMAIL exchanges. It is regretted that fear of mis-use will have removed this degree of communication. For me, this change takes away a good part of the delight that TarBoard has provided to me.
Once again, the terrorists have won.
After all, it WAS an option. One could leave off their email ID or include it, as they saw fit.
