Interesting. There is an HMS Seahawk too. It is the name of the Royal Naval Air Service helicopter station at Coldrose in Cornwall. It was developed in the 1940's, so it post dates Ransome. Now that the govt. want to 'privatise' the rescue services, I suspect its future could be in jeopardy.
