The book 'Ransome at Home' lists all the exact addresses where Arthur, Ivy and Evgenia owned or rented for more than a week.
There was only one unknown address - a rented place in Milford (near Guildford/Godalming in Surrey) which is quite near me. Arthur apparently regained his love of fishing here, on the River Wey. I visited a very pretty stretch of the river by an ancient bridge, and enjoyed the peace. It probably was "a bridge where AR once stood" (see other Tarboard discussion currently running!) but I felt the magic...
The other place fairly near me is Arthur/Ivy's house in Froxfield (near Petersfield). The view there was stunning; you could see why Arthur was hooked into buying it. Middle of nowhere though!
