Like many of us I acquired most of my ARs in childhood, hardbacks and the dust wrappers soon were discarded (the ones my late brother had before me the dust wrappers had long gone before I even took an interest.)
So recently I have tried to acquire hardback editions with dust wrappers, these days the easiest way is e-bay and I have noticed that in the last few weeks or so there has been a glut of such volumes for auction/sale from the 1930s through to the 1990s (including quite a few first editions) at a wide array of prices too.
My only thought is that are those who hung on to them are now passing away, and their relatives have no interest, anyone have any thoughts? Or is it that I now that I'm seriously looking there I actually see them!
