I have a soft spot for Peter Duck as it was the very first Ransome that I ever read at the age of 8 or so.
However, for the longest time Swallowdale was the only Ransome I owned and I got to know and love it. I never really took to the Broads books or Missee Lee, though I loved the way the map got gradually filled in in Secret Water and We Didn't mean to Go to Sea is very exciting.
