That is a common myth. I follow tennis closely in the UK, and there is no evidence at all to confirm it. Andy Murray has, in the past, lost some popularity because of his on-court conduct, but the Brit/Scot thing is nothing to do with it, and never has been. It is one of those things which lazy journalists use to pep up their copy, and has no factual basis. If anyone has written evidence to support this myth, then please produce it.
