In an excellent article in praise of Dorothea, published in "Mixed Moss" in 1995 Charlotte Ryton makes a strong case for Dorothea attending a day school.

Is there any way of getting at a copy of that article? Like any red blooded chap I am of course in love with Dorothea, who is my favourite character from the books. I am also in love with north London and if she went to North London Collegiate, that would please me a lot... It also makes a great deal of sense, although if her father was looking at tombs in Egypt, mightn't he have been working at SOAS? Which was going full blast already in the '20s and '30s. And that might support a Bloomsbury address. Still, there was the Northern Line...
