I do not remember the debate, but Shrewsbury makes sense. I used to think AR had sent Dick to Rugby but the pre-war Lakes Express (Euston, 12 noon) stopped at Rugby, arriving at Windermere at 5.25.
I suspect that the Callums lived nearer the UCL than Charlotte suggests, for if they lived in the Highgate - Hampstead - Golders Green area she would have been taken to the Heath to see the tobogganing.
