For any railway buffs:
The 1934 Lakes Express left Euston with 14 coaches, the first six for Windermere, three for Keswick/Workingtom, two for Whitehaven, two for Blackpool and the single Southport coach that was the first to be 'dropped off'.
The six coaches for Windermere included the kitchen car, an open first class coach next to the kitchen car and an open third class coach on the other side.
After the war the train had just two portions: the front five coaches for Keswick/Workington and the rear seven for Windermere, including the restaurant car.
