Unfortunately Arthur Ransome has made things difficult for us to rationalise when he noted down their ages at the time of PM.
Dorothea was 13 and Dick 12, so in PP Dot was 12 and Dick 11 (qualitative analysis at 11?), so in WH Dot was 11-12 and Dick was 10-11.
If we take this on board, both Ds were at prep schools in WH.
