There are some wonderful pictures there- and in some cases you can go and visit them now. For instance 'Roy's of Wroxham 1930s'. On Google maps, go to the junction of Station Road and Stalham Road- or just zoom in on it from above- from the 1930s picture it really couldn't be anywhere else- and in Street View, you're there. Roys omnipresent, all around the junction, just as it was in the 1930s. Some of the buildings are more recent, but the Food Hall with its decorative arch hasn't changed a bit, and to the right, Roys 'Children's World' although it appears to have a different name (still Roys through) in the '30s picture. Really quite magical- a better time machine than the Tardis. And the people walking and cycling about in the 1930 picture are so clear, real and casual; you meet them down the supermarket every day.
This is the kind of thing I really enjoy in AR's books, too. A visit across time...
