The REAL location of Swallowdale

I know this has been discussed before, both here and in Roger's and perhaps Christina's book. But I haven't been convinced by any proffered prototypes for Swallowdale. Can anyone shed any new light on this, I'm sure, age-old question please? (For an antipodean, photographic evidence would be particularly prized....)
