"It's a nice round number."

Alas, the speed of light is exactly 299,792,458 m/s. (The length of the meter was redefined to make this so.) I do not have this number memorized.

If you want a round number, the speed of light is almost exactly 0.002 AU/s. In more practical terms, if you are an electronics engineer, it is very close to a nanosecond per foot. The latter is a major reason we can't build faster computers.
