I thought I would see if the web would reveal anything interesting about the big freeze of 1963, which was the coldest winter for 200 years.
I came on a little gem of a utube film — 'Windermere - The Big Freeze 1963'. Taken in the Bowness, Belle Isle, Cockshot point area — lots of skating, children on sledges and a snatch of hockey. Briliant!
