Hello,

I am a current postgraduate student at the University of Essex, studying for a masters in Wild Writing: Literature and the Environment. I am currently writing an essay on the role of the adolescent girl in the landscape, comparing Secret Water to Mehalah by Sabine Baring-Gould. I noticed that Mehalah is listed under Ransome's sources on the "All Things Ransome" site, and wondered if anyone could provide any more information on the link between the two. I especially struck by the fact that both the Amazons and Mehalah wear red knitted caps.

If anyone could point me in the direction of any information on a link between these two texts that would be wonderful.

I'm aware of the Hardyment book that's quoted by the entry and am getting hold of a copy soon, but if anyone knows of anything else that would be great.

Thank you!
