Not sure that the Amazons would have worn berets. Too much part of school uniform headwear along with felt hats, straw hats and boaters.

The Amazons need not have worn the same headgear all the time. Any mother with a penchant for washing (and most seemed to be of this ilk) would ensure such items were washed at least weekly. Especially as much of the time they were based at home.

The Amazons stand out inasmuch that most of their holiday clothing is non school related whereas the Swallows probably wore some school uniform during the holiday as many children of this era did.
