Tak: could it be something nicely subtle?

In "I've summat to show thee. Tak' a look at yon." 'Tak' is followed by a vowel. In "but that'll tak me oop to London." it's followed by a consonant, and the feel of the run-on is quite different. In 'Tak me oop' it's absolutely smooth, like a single word, whereas in 'Tak' a look' there's a stop (glottal stop?) separating the words.

Maybe AR was fastidiously recreating the sound. It seems to me to be what he'd do.
