Not all the books were 'edited' due partly to Ransome's inability to meet deadlines, but PP was one of them. Towards the end of August 1936, Ransome sent the text to Wren Howard who was on holiday in the Scilly Isles fishing for mackerel. Perhaps the fish were biting too well?
