Fascinating film, Jock.
Lovely clips including the lamented Doric Arch at Euston.
The evocative coach destination board of THE LAKES EXPRESS – LONDON (EUSTON) AND WINDEMERE.
The fascinating SAXA SALT wagon where the cow strays onto the line.
The engine change at Oxenholme (Strickland Junction) (showing AR was correct in depicting a smaller tank engine on the train).
The shots of the lake at Windermere Station, now longer to be seen masked by development and tree growth.
A couple of years ago I did write an article in TARS Mixed Moss of a journey Titty and Roger might have made from Euston to Strickland junction. I did give a link to a BBC sound archive of a similar type of train of which the first 8 minutes of this recording give some sounds from Euston Station and of the Royal Scot train departing in 1935 at 10.00 am.
