Beckfoot occurs in 4 books
There is no mention of a barn, rather a stables with a loft over, and a fourth building in PM drawn, and referred to as the garage.

In general terms of the kind of house Beckfoot might be, wouldn't Lanehead be a guide? After all, it seems likely to me to have been the conceptual example for AR of the 'homely house'.

There's a good picture on Google Street View.

The building itself has a completely different layout, but the chimneys appear to indicate that the bedrooms and living rooms did have fireplaces, but none of the chimneys were at the ends of the buildings. Maybe AR didn't care too much about those details?

As for the 'garage' perhaps it would have resembled the one they built for Rattletrap at Low Ludderburn, also clearly visible on Street View, next to AR's barn/workplace at: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.312723,-2.915915,3a,75y,19.51h,80.54t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sF2b-l7oV4PkQPSB6QmbEqA!2e0

As you say, the stable block is well described in PP.
