Just to explain, I don't think the whole of Beckfoot can be found at Belle Grange. I rather like Roger's Town Head House (and have linked to a video of it). It is undoubtedly grander than the Beckfoot in my head (even Belle Grange is possibly a little grander than the imagined one) but it looks very like some of the illustrations (particularly the small chapter-header ones).
I imagine that a number of houses are in the mix, (as with Wild Cat Island) and therefore I have no problem with concluding that Belle Grange, Town Head and quite possibly Lanehead or Tent Lodge all might have contributed to the final Beckfoot.
