I have always thought that like the Lake, Wild Cat Island and Swallowdale and many other places, Ransome had an idealised place which he then described. Some or all of these components may have come from real places but just as you will never find "The Lake", I strongly doubt that you will find any of the others in one place either.
However, just as Ransome drew pictures and maps of the Lake, Wild Cat island etc., so we can draw our own pictures or plans of the places that he didn't go into as much detail about and fill in the gaps with our own speculations.
Of course the bathroom had a water supply! (unless it didn't)
