I had the great good fortune to grow up in Cumbria, just north of the Lakes. Simon Schama wrote about Landscape and Memory in the book of the same name, and my head is filled, perhaps, with the way the land and the built environment is in Cumbria.

It's simply right. I can - like Ransome - shut my eyes and see that landscape.

And I miss the place.

So Lakeland Cam is a "must-see" every day for me, a way to top up a need. Finding Ransome-ish things in the images is the icing on an already-delicious cake. ...Preferably one given by Cook behind the Great Aunt's back. :o)
