That illustration is a key source for Amazon, along with the one of Nancy and Peggy with her - In Horseshoe Cove - in Swallowdale.

One thing neither sketch shows clearly though is the mechanism for raising and lowering the centreboard, was it with pulleys and ropes as on Peggy Blackett (in which case did Scarab use that method?), or some sort of handle/slot system?

Also how many planks did Amazon and Scarab's bottom boards have - I was going to base that on Peggy Blackett's - and was there a locker beneath the stern bench (in front of the transom)?
