A brief note on Pauline Marshall, whom Roger mentions. The tragic accident in Mavis was the subject of a detailed discussion on Tarboard about 14 years ago. This became rather fraught because Pauline was still alive at the time. Pauline spoke to me in detail about it - it seems the youth was rather hefty, unused to boats and he panicked. The accident scarred her for life.
As Roger may know, Pauline always insisted that Mavis was not Amazon.
