Gosh, Roger what tantalising clues...

So would I be right in concluding that the original basis of the map in SW is a Cruising Association chart and not, as I previously thought, an Admiralty Chart?

And what an excuse for a really ambitious pub crawl. Trying to find the tea towel pub at Nacton is a challenge akin to the search for the real Swallowdale. According to Google Maps, there doesn't seem to be a pub in Nacton!

There's "The Shepherd & Dog" on the Felixtowe Road, but is the area to the north of the railway line still "Nacton"?

There's a splendid cluster of pubs on or near the Nacton Road on the southern edge of Ipswich: "The Swallow", "The Thrasher" and "The Raven" on the edge the "Ransomes Industrial Estate". There's even a "Golden Hind" near to the Ipswich Transport Museum. But none of these are in Nacton... .

Is there an opportunity here for a new book, Arthur Ramsome's Pubs? Or has it already been done?
