This summer I spent a few days sailing near Falmouth with my brother in his Wayfarer dinghy. We sailed across the Carrick (like a big lake of salt water). We sailed up some of the creeks and rivers. Some like the Tamar are pretty deep and wide. We nearly ran aground on a falling tide up one creek (good job we had a centreboard). There are some picturesque pubs for the adults, one has historical connections with D-Day as it was the local headquarters for the invasion planning. All in all if not a small boat paradise, it was a good substitute
