I second that! In my opinion what is wanted, especially for John and Nancy, are children who are sailors first and can be taught to behave naturally in front of the cameras. To me film acting always appears more natural than stage acting, though how difficult that is I don't know as I have only done the latter.
To find a number of enthusiastic youngsters the casting director need only visit some of the sailing clubs that have thriving cadet sections. At the risk of sounding smug we have several who would be suitable for Amazons, or the male Swallows, though Susan and Titty are harder to get right.
