I agree with Peter H's comments. A (good) three generations have passed since the books were contemporary, and the books themselves no longer seem to fill the same need they did for people of my generation. The two Trusts can perhaps help do that.
As to the obituary, I picked it up from another forum -- I hadn't read it before and didn't realise it was Christina's, but I thought it was nicely written and worth quoting.
