Hmmn — that dream ending!!!!! From memory at least one of the Children's Hour dramatisations cut that ending, and I once read that it was the publisher throwing its weight around, not JM's wishes.
In reading aloud, I left them beginning the cathedral service, shortly before we were due to leave for church for the school carol service.
