Pretty-well exactly my thoughts too, Richard. I tend to say that I read the whole canon every couple of years, and it's basically true. But I normally don't read 'Missee Lee' at all, and 'Peter Duck' only so often. 'Great Northern?', on the other hand, gets read at the same frequecny as all the others.
(And I've never managed to work out why people put this third book in the meta-fiction category with the other two. Yes, the children are crewing on a bigger boat, as they were in PD, but that "reason", if it is one, can be negated by the fact that they're all now considerably older, more responsible, and also more-skilled sailors. And I can't think of any other reason -- a cruise in the Hebrides could well have been a fore-runner to a later cruise across the North Sea and in the Baltic, just as AR himself had done.)
