I always like to see inscriptions, as they become a part of the book's history, though I know they lower the 'value'.
I know that bookshop, Alan, I always feel too big and clumsy for it, as it is rather narrow. Good stock for its size, though.

I have handled a SA 'first' — a very special copy inscribed by AR to his mother that has remained in the family. The expression 'loved to death' springs to mind, as while it was not falling apart, it was obvious that it had been read many, many times. Fascinating to imagine who may have read that copy.
