The bathing hut belonged to her grandparents and was a home made affair, and AR was not far off the mark, as the hut did not survive WWII. Further details in 'Mixed Moss' 2011 and Master 'Storyteller'.

Thanks for that. It's sent me back to 'Master Storyteller', and I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed it, so I've started again from the beginning. And it's so beautifully written, produced and illustrated, just a pleasure to read. A good, gentle week's read in prospect.

As for WD, I suppose that they could have met their father by surprise in the market, with the working dogs, but the Commander is well suited to the idea of a pierhead jump. And if a novelist can't make his world work to suit his story, then what can he do?

It made a very nice happy ending to what was the toughest book in the series. I always find it very satisfying.
