I have at home a photograph (from approx. 1900) of the head of Windermere which shows a hut-like building with a flagpole next to it, that clearly some TAR at some time thought was the North Pole as they included it in a lot with other materials that I bought on Ebay at some point. I will try and scan it. It's hard to spot exactly where it is, but I doubt it's the point in Borran's Park. There is the ruin of a stone building beside it and it's on something of a raised area with some trees by it. Anyway, I'll try and scan it and see what happens - I might be back with it shortly!
