Thank you Duncan (and Dave for reposting it) for the Windermere picture,
Presumably it has a title on the obverse side of the “Head of Windermere” or something similar.
Like Duncan, I find it difficult to place, as Roger has previously stated the area has changed and reed beds have shifted. Unfortunately I have not visited the area for a few years, is there a TarBoarder with recent local knowledge who could help please. The hills in the immediate background may help.
To me the buildings look more like a focal point for dinghy racing especially as there is a further flagstaff to the RHS (in location rather like the Beckfoot flagstaff?)
It may, as Duncan surmises, be in the mouth of the Brathay/Rothay river but it would be helpful to know.
