Have put article on “Bohemia in London” on Wikipedia. There are two links to American & Canadian online versions, but the North American versions by Dodds Mead of New York omit a “slightly bawdy ballad” (presumably not Eskimo Nell or The Good Ship Venus!). Reminded that in SA the Swallows sing “Amsterdam” (Amster .... naughty word .... Amsterdam!)
Re the Canadian publication by Dodds Mead in Canada under the imprint of the Musson Book Co of Toronto, presumably for copyright reasons before the Pan-American copyright agreement giving mutual recognition between the USA and Canada. Before America joined the international agreement (Berne?) British publishers could publish in Canada also and get copyright protection in Canada and also the USA.
