The price which will be paid for a first (1930) edition of 'Swallows and Amazons' continues to rise. One has recently been sold at Bonhams, London, for £9,500. The value was probably enhanced because AR had signed the title page and also added a tiny colour drawing of a sailing dinghy (as he sometimes did). The dust wrapper looks still in a reasonably good state.
