Paul's mentioning of Bertie Wooster reminds me that many authors use Oxford as a setting for their stories or had their characters educated there - Dorothy Sayers, Colin Dexter, P.G. Woodhouse to mention but three - few seem to use Cambridge. The only book I can remember set in the latter university is Tom Sharpe's "Porterhouse Blue". I'm sure there must be more.

Is this because Oxford is more associated with the "literary type" and Cambridge with the scientists?
