If AR had strolled even further along High Holborn he would have come to the Bassett-Lowke shop, with the signals jutting out over the pavement. Although world-famous for model locos and trains, B-L also sold high quality model yachts, so AR may have been tempted in. I used to work in an office just opposite that shop . . . . but this is getting way off-topic so I'll stop.
