I have just heard the sad news that Dick Kelsall died on 28th April. Dick and his brother Desmond (who died a few years ago) were the sons of Colonel Kelsall, a close friend of AR. When AR lived at Low Ludderburn, Col. Kelsall lived at Barkbooth across the valley and the signalling system they devised to send messages to each other makes an appearance in Winter Holiday.
AR took the two boys on fishing trips. In return, they posed for the "hollywoods". Dick gave great support to TARS when it first started up, and I was lucky enough to have had a chat with him at that time. He was a nice man and was ready to talk quite a bit about AR.
